Bakatako / Community rules

The house rules.

Bakatako is a place for humans making things together. These rules exist so the feed stays fun to scroll and safe to post to. They apply everywhere on the site: works, replies, profiles, rooms, contests, and OC pages.

The short version

Draw your own stuff. Keep it safe to scroll. Be kind to other bakas. Report anything that breaks this, and we will handle it.

§1

Be cool to each other

Most people here are drawing for fun, often badly, and that is the point. Treat every doodle like someone was brave to post it.

  • No harassment, dogpiling, or targeting another user across works and replies.
  • No slurs or hate speech of any kind, in any language, drawn or written.
  • No sexual comments about other users or their characters.
  • No doxxing, threats, or sharing anyone's personal information.
  • Unsolicited critique is rarely welcome. If someone asks for feedback, be honest and kind. If they didn't, a reaction says plenty.
§2

Keep the feed safe to scroll

People open Bakatako on the bus, at work, and next to their kids. Everything you post should be safe to see without warning. Drawings are screened automatically when you post, and a human reviews anything that gets flagged.

Never post

  • Explicit contentNo visible genitalia or sexual acts, even drawn as a joke. Yes, stick figures count. Censor-bar gags and clearly covered bits are fine.
  • Graphic goreCartoon violence and spooky art are fine. Realistic gore, mutilation, and shock imagery are not.
  • Self-harm imageryDon't depict or promote self-harm. If you're struggling, please reach out to someone you trust or a local crisis line; the feed isn't the place.
  • Hate symbolsNo hate symbols or hateful imagery, on any layer, no matter how it's framed.
  • Anything sexualizing minorsZero tolerance. Instant permanent ban and a report to the relevant authorities. This includes drawn content. There are no second chances on this one.
§3

Post your own drawings

Bakatako is built around drawing in the browser, and every work keeps a timelapse of how it was made. The art you post should be yours.

  • Don't post other people's art as your own, traced or otherwise.
  • Don't pass off AI-generated images as your drawings. This is a site for human doodles, wobbly lines and all.
  • References are fine, that's how everyone learns. If a work leans heavily on someone else's piece, say so.
  • Remixing is what the site is for: reply to works, draw other people's OCs, riff on the daily prompt. The built-in tools keep attribution attached automatically.
§4

Don't spam

  • No copy-paste replies, link spam, scams, or accounts that exist to advertise.
  • No follow/unfollow churn or engagement farming.
  • One human, one account. No alt accounts to farm clan points, stuff contest votes, dodge a ban, or pile onto prompt bids.
§5

Respect shared spaces

Rooms are live canvases you share with other people, and everything above applies there too. A few extras:

  • The host sets the vibe. Follow the room's theme and the host's calls.
  • Don't scribble over or erase what someone else is working on.
  • Hosts can remove people from their room. Being removed isn't an appealable offense, it's their canvas.
  • Same goes for clans, contests, and games: play fair, no sabotage, no cheating.
§6

Reporting

Every work, reply, and profile has a report option. Use it. Reports go to human moderators with help from automated tooling, and content may be hidden while we review. Reporting is anonymous to the person you report.

Please don't weaponize reports. Mass-reporting art you simply don't like is its own kind of spam.

§7

What happens when rules break

Depending on severity we remove the content, warn you, suspend the account, or ban it permanently. Most first offenses are a removal and a heads-up. The zero-tolerance items in §2 skip the ladder entirely.

If you think we got it wrong, email cody@bakatako.com and a human will take another look.

§8

The fine print

These rules are the friendly version of our Terms of Service, which is the binding document (including the part where accounts are 18+). How we handle your data lives in the Privacy Policy. We update these rules as the community grows; material changes get announced.
