Terms of service.

By creating an account or using bakatako.com (“Bakatako,” “the Service”) you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

Bakatako is a social platform for doodles. We give you tools to draw, post, react, remix, and follow other artists. Core features include the daily prompt feed, drawing rooms, profile pages, character studio, and the optional screenshot-to-video tool. We add and retire features over time.

• You must be 18 or older to create an account.
• Provide accurate information at signup and keep it current.
• You're responsible for activity under your account; keep your password safe.
• One human, one account. Don't share or sell access.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these Terms or harm the community.

You keep all rights to the doodles, replies, comics, and other works you make on Bakatako. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, distribute, and back up your content so we can run the Service. This license ends when you delete the content (except for backups that age out on schedule, and copies others have already saved).

You confirm that you own — or have permission to use — anything you upload, including reference images, audio, and brushes.

Don't post

• Sexual content involving minors. Ever.
• CSAM, doxxing, harassment, or threats of violence.
• Hate speech or content targeting people based on protected characteristics.
• Other people's art passed off as your own.
• Spam, malware, scams, or anything illegal where you live or where the Service operates.

We may remove content that violates these rules and take action on the account. Bakatako is operated for humans making things together; we'll err toward keeping it that way.

Anyone can report a work, reply, or profile. We review reports as quickly as we can. Decisions are made by people with help from automated tooling — we may temporarily hide content while we review. If we get it wrong, email us and we'll take another look.

• Some features may require a paid subscription. Current plans, prices, and credits are shown on our pricing page and at checkout.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time from your account; access continues until the end of the paid period.
• Prices may change with at least 30 days notice.
• Refunds are at our discretion and generally limited to billing errors. Unused credits do not roll over after cancellation.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Their terms also apply to billing.

Some features (like character generation, prompt suggestions, and content moderation) rely on third-party AI providers. When you use these features, your inputs may be sent to those providers; their outputs are best-efforts and may be wrong, biased, or weird. Don't rely on AI output for anything that requires expertise (medical, legal, financial). You're responsible for reviewing and using AI output appropriately.

The Bakatako name, mascot, logo, source code, and original UI elements are ours. You may not copy or reuse them without permission, except where covered by an open-source license we've granted. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our IP to you.

If we offer API access (paid or otherwise), keep your API keys confidential, respect rate limits, and don't use them to scrape user data, impersonate other accounts, or train ML models on user content. We may revoke keys that get abused.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee uptime, that AI suggestions will be useful, or that your work will reach a particular audience. We do try our best.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Bakatako and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim — or US$50 if you didn't pay anything.

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or someone else's rights.

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. We'll post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date; material changes get a heads-up via email or an in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the changes.

You may stop using Bakatako and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, fraud, or to protect the platform. Sections that should reasonably survive termination (IP, your content licenses for residual backups, liability limits) survive.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
